Mark J. Snyder is president and founder of Mark J. Snyder Financial Services, Inc. and Long Island Financial Advisor, Inc. two full service financial consulting firms. Separately, he is a First Line Supervisor/Managing Executive of Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., a-registered broker/dealer, and member of FINRA/SIPC. Mark earned a Bachelor of Engineering Sciences degree at Stony Brook University and is Qualified Financial Planner, Certified Retirement Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Registered Financial Consultant, Certified Fund Specialist, Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor, Registered Fiduciary, and Retirement Management Analyst as indicated by the designations listed above. Such designations are earned through extensive study and testing administered by financial and education institutions.

Mark began his financial services career in 1971 and currently manages approximately $250 million of client assets. Accountants and attorneys frequently call upon him to assist in matters relating to retirement planning and handling of “windfall” monies, pension and 401(k) rollovers, court settlements and inheritances are some of the unforeseen situations involving large sums of money. In such cases, Mark advises the client as to the best way to help protect these funds while providing for future income needs.

In addition to having his articles published in a number of major financial journals and often being quoted in national publications. Mark is the author of “On Educated Investing” a guide to investing for retirement in the 21stcentury. Worth Magazine has chosen him as one of America’s top financial advisors from 1999 through 2002. He was one of the winners of the 2002 Outstanding Broker Award from Registered Representative Magazine (Based on the longevity in the industry, substantial assets under management and superior client service), he was named one of Bloomberg Wealth Manager Magazine’s Top Dogs (leading independent financial advisor, registered with the SEC, serving wealthy clients) from 2003 through 2011. Mark was also inducted into the 2001 Advisor Hall of Fame by Research Magazine (based on longevity in the industry, substantial assets under management and superior client service). Recently, Mark was named a FINRA Arbitrator in 2005.

Mark has served as president of several professional organizations and remains actively involved in the community. He is on the board of the Suffolk County Council Boy Scouts of America, serving as chairman of their Trust Fund, and was awarded the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award. He is an active member of Temple Isaiah, Past President of the Gloria & Mark Snyder Hillel Center at Stony Brook University, past president of SUNY Stony Brook Alumni Association and on the board of Theatre Three in Port Jefferson.

Cathy Mussi | Vice President of Operations & Compliance & Office Manager

As Vice President of Operations and Compliance Cathy provides our team and our representatives’ support and assistance on a daily basis. Cathy works with our financial advisors and clients to address day to day issues. She also trains new team members, representatives and assists with structuring and implementing processes and procedures for the administrative team. Cathy is also responsible for maintaining and updating our office policies and procedures.

Cathy supports Mark in all client and prospect meetings, their preparations and with the coordination of the team in the client meeting follow-up process. She also obtains life insurance and long term care insurance quotes on behalf of the firm for Mark to review with clients.

Cathy has been an essential part of Mark J. Snyder Financial Services, Inc. since 1997. Her positive attitude and work ethic provide our clients with an unsurpassed level of service. She has proven to be an invaluable asset to our office.

Cathy is married to husband Paul. She has 4 children Carla, Lino, Anthony and Bridget. She is enjoying her 4 grandchildren Lily-Rose, Jeremy, Caleb and Amelia. She is an avid quilter and enjoys spending her free time at her vacation home in upstate New York.

Pat Jolly | Assistant Office Manager

Pat is responsible for the account billing process, new investment account openings and assisting in the transfer and rollover process. Pat handles all checks that flow through the office to insure their prompt delivery. 

She regularly interacts with clients ensuring that we respond to their needs in a timely manner. She primarily handles the daily administrative tasks for clients’ accounts. 

She is happily available to be of assistance in addressing any questions and account issues every day.

Pat is married to husband David and has three children David, Christopher and Daniel. She is also the proud grandmother of Janessa. Pat is an enthusiastic quilter and enjoys her trips to Pennsylvania shopping for fabrics.

Marcella Giachetta | Administrative Assistant

As Mark’s Administrative Assistant, Marcella is responsible for keeping track of and organizing Mark’s office schedule. Marcella is the first point of contact through the client services team. She is often the friendly voice you will hear when calling us.

Marcella’s passion is client contact and service. She makes sure all requests are handled in an expedient manner. Marcella updates clients’ personal and confidential information within the home office data base, all investment companies and our contact management program. Marcella is also responsible for the planning and coordination of our various client functions.

Marcella is married to her husband Joseph. She is the proud mother of three daughters. She is also a member of the quilting group and enjoys sharing her completed projects with her family.

Elaine Stahl | Administrative Assistant

Elaine manages our office document imaging system. She is also responsible for the enormous paper trail that flows through our office. Elaine keeps the office running in an organized and efficient manner.

Elaine observes all accounts participating in periodic withdrawals to insure uninterrupted processing. Elaine monitors clients’ accounts to insure that their Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) are processed.

Elaine prepares the investment reports for all client meetings as well as assisting in meeting preparations.

Elaine is married to husband Gary and has 4 sons Adam, Gary, Brian and Keith. She also enjoys spending time with her 6 grandchildren Corrine, Olivia, Sarah, Marissa, and Tanner. Elaine is also a passionate quilter. Elaine also enjoys collecting antiques.

Peter Bellocchio | Vice President, Research & Analysis

Peter’s career in the financial services industry spans more than 40 years. As a Vice President and manager with the Dime of New York, Peter managed several of the Dime’s largest retail branches in New York City and Long Island, and left after 30 successful years.

After obtaining his securities license in 1994, Peter then joined the Greater New York Savings Bank as a financial advisor, and was later appointed to the position of Asst. Vice President. A bank merger in 1997 caused Peter to re-evaluate his career. He decided that his skills in economics, finance and client service were best suited to helping others in financial services rather than banking. It was at this time that Peter was introduced to Mark through a mutual acquaintance. Mark immediately recognized Peter’s knowledge and experience; there was an instant chemistry that has endured to this day.

With the firm since 1998, Peter’s role is to perform analysis of new and existing client portfolios and assist Mark with financial research and due-diligence of various investment products. With his background in economics and banking Peter also monitors the markets and the economy for trends that may affect our investment strategies. Together with other highly skilled industry professionals, Peter also participates in regular investment committee meetings, workshops and seminars. This ongoing education and interaction helps him to keep abreast of new concepts and trends, and to formulate strategies for our clients’ assets.

One of Peter’s hobbies is computer hardware and software. He helps with the oversight of our in-house computer network. In addition, he maintains our office professional software and is constantly evaluating new programs.

Separately he holds his Series 7 securities registration.

Peter and his wife, Susan, reside in Bellport Village, Long Island. In their spare time, they enjoy travel and spending time with their combined 14 grandchildren.

Anita Henry | Administrative Assistant

Anita manages the details and the updating of our management program by reporting to Mark on 401(k), 403(b), TIAA/CREF and annuity accounts. She confers with Mark, Peter, Boyan and Chad, reviewing with them the available options within the various fund and annuity companies. Anita then works with the team to implement the changes to accounts and completes these tasks in cooperation with Mark and our broker-dealer.

Anita assists clients with questions regarding the processing of annuity applications and account service forms and is always available for questions and assistance.

Anita has two sons. She also enjoys her time with her 4 grandchildren. When not spending time with her family you can find her in her garden or enjoying painting.

Chad Snyder | Compliance Officer

Chad is a compliance officer for Mark J. Snyder Financial Service, Inc. and Long Island Financial Advisors, Inc. Chad insures that all licensed representatives meet all regulatory requirements.

Chad also assists with the technical analysis for the management program for variable annuities, 403(b) and 401(k) plans. e reviews and researches the range of investment choices for client plans.

In his free time Chad enjoys building and managing his successful music company.

Chad separately holds his Series 7 and 64 Securities registrations. Chad is also a General Securities Principal (Series 24).

Chad currently resides in Brooklyn, New York

Gloria Snyder | Vice President

Gloria joined our team in 2002 after retiring from managing her successful fundraising company. She brings a wealth of business expertise and knowledge to our firm advising on major purchases and administrative decisions. Gloria ensures that the financial records of the company are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures. This includes the management of the trading records and deposits as required by our back office.

In addition to her office responsibilities Gloria is actively involved in the Stony Brook Alumni Association, Stony Brook Medical Center Development Council, Stony Brook Hillel Foundation, Stony Brook Hospital Auxiliary Board, Theatre Three, Temple Isaiah and the Suffolk County American Cancer Society. As a member of the board on these organizations she devotes many hours of time and service. Gloria feels that giving back to the community is a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

Gloria has an undergraduate degree from American University, and received her master’s degree from Stony Brook University.

Gloria delights in the many accomplishments of her children Chad and Heather.

Eric Taitz | Financial Advisor

Eric’s practical approach to investing helps his clients to understand their complete financial picture, not just their investments. Wth the extensive investment options available today Eric helps guide his clients to make well informed financial decisions and navigate through challenging markets. His client's also benefit from his knowledge of qualified plans and his ability to advise on the customization of their retirement plans to meet their specific needs.

Eric graduated from Albany University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

He is committed to his community serving on the Board of the Fuoco Memorial benefiting Camp Pa Qua Tuck, a children’s camp for the handicapped. Eric has been a softball coach on both the national and local level. Eric and his wife, and their two children reside in Bayport.

Heather Snyder | Social Media Manager

Heather is responsible for monitoring and updating our social media and marketing activities. Heather joined our team to help expand the visibility and the reach of our firm. She helps deliver the firm’s message to its target markets.

Heather performs humanitarian work both in Africa and locally. Heather’s other passion is doing work as a birth doula. She is also a teacher of the Alexander Technique and the Pilates Method. Heather currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Boyan Doytchinov | Portfolio Analyst

Boyan joined our firm in December 2009. Boyan conducts research on the markets and the economy. He also performs due diligence and analysis on our various investments and strategies along with monitoring existing client positions. Our firm feels it is critically important that ongoing review and account monitoring take place and Boyan does this with utmost efficiency. He has frequent contact with the fund companies reviewing their strategies and performance.

In addition to his research responsibilities he assists Mark and Peter with various technical projects.

Boyan earned a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Stony Brook University.

He enjoys Kayaking on Long Island and fishing with his family and friends.
